Specialty Training

Much like pediatricians, our doctors are specialists but are considered primary care providers for children. Each of the doctors at Pediatric Dental Associates & Orthodontics have had an additional two years of concentrated learning and training to provide dental care to infants, young children, teenagers and special needs patients.

Not only can the doctors at Pediatric Dental Associates & Orthodontics treat dental disease effectively but they are among the best at anticipating dental issues and can guide a family to prevent many dental and oral diseases.

Where the pediatric dentist has an advantage over a general dentist is that they have advanced training in growth and development of children; diseases of the mouth specific to children; restoration of decayed teeth in children (with or without utilizing sedation or general anesthesia); and most importantly, strategies to guide families towards preventing dental disease.

Board Certification

All of our doctors have completed 24-month residency training programs in pediatric dentistry after graduating from dental school.

All of our Doctors have also passed a battery of examinations designed to test their competence in the field of pediatric dentistry.

This board certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is the highest designation by the specialty for qualified practitioners.

Personalized Care

In an era of depersonalization and corporate practices in the health care field, it is important you know that the doctors and team at Pediatric Dental Associates & Orthodontics appreciate the trust that families place in us to treat and guide their children. We strive to give every family our utmost attention and address their individual needs.

No two children or families are ever alike. Our doctors and team celebrate the differences that exist and feel it is important to customize our treatments and advice to a given situation and not follow a “one size fits all” approach.

Whether it is a family structure, family dynamic or special needs patient issue, we will do our best to treat you like one of our family and guide you to a lifetime of optimal dental health.

Continuing Education

We are committed to providing you with the most current evidence-based practices our profession can offer. Our doctors and team meet and exceed all requirements of the Connecticut State Dental Association, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
